| Job Description: | Review and approve project designs and layout, while monitoring the construction site on its implementation of the scope of work in order to support the construction project manager in managing the projects. |
| Job Requirements: | Zamil Industrial Investment Co. is in need for Lebanese or Jordanian Civil Engineers. Ideal applicants should meet the following basic requirements:
• Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering preferably with professional licensure degree.
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in Design works at a Construction environment.
Responsibilities would include:
• Supervise the design team in the preparation of the layouts / plans for the identified project.
• Visit the site to conduct inspections to gather additional information which will assist in the design / layout of the project in question.
• Monitor the preparation of the drawings / layouts and provide corrective actions to ensure the timely completion of the projects within the deadline / timetable.
• Check and ensure the accuracy and quality of the design / layouts.
• Liaise with other operational areas in the organization (for example engineering, drafting, and technical) to secure specialized resources & contributions for the project.
• Monitor the progress during each phase of a project and the implementation of the plans to the actual site to ensure compliance of the subcontractor on the terms / scope of work.
• Meet with the sub-contractor’s to discuss the status of the project and resolution of any issues / non conformances.
• Ensure the site(s) meet Quality Control and Health and Safety standards / requirements.
• Raise Non Conformance Reports for issues found in the site and liaise / monitor for its resolution.
• Obtain all relevant information of the project intended.
• Judge whether the said project is workable by assessing materials, costs, time and labor requirements based on the information gathered.
• Assess the environmental impact and risks connected to the project.
• Prepare the relevant reports and submit to the Construction Manager for his approval.
• Ensure that all files, plans and documents are documented and filed according to the Organization’s Quality Policies and Procedures.
• Generate reports on project status reports for the different construction projects.
• Provide other reports as and when needed by Management.
• Share knowledge and experience with the team(s) and provide feedback, guidance and assistance.
• Identify training needs of staff and recommend appropriate training to meet the training needs and improve performance standards.
• Appraise the staff to assess their effectiveness in meeting current and future needs and contribute in the succession planning in order to sustain the effectiveness of the team(s).
• Create a coaching and mentoring environment and encourage teamwork between the staff in order to improve team performance and people development.
Skills
• Knowledge of the local building codes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Application, Project Management & AutoCAD software.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic.
• Project Management Skills and the ability to handle several projects at the same time.
• Ability to work within budgets and to deadlines.
