| Job Description: | Under the responsibility of the Production Superintendent, plans and distributes the production loads based on all available resources; monitors the production output of each employee in the shop floor to ensure production targets and work schedules are met and comply with the company’s standards and with the customer requirements. Likewise, reviews all periodic utilization reports and ensures optimum usage of consumables and tools. |
| Job Requirements: | Zamil Industrial Investment Co. is in need for Production Supervisor - PED. Ideal applicants should meet the following basic requirements:
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; specialization in Welding Technology.
• Minimum of 5-6 years working experience in production operations, 5 years of which at least as Production Engineer in Pressure Vessel or Heat Exchanger Industry.
Responsibilities would include:
• Ensures the production output meets the acceptable quality levels and adheres to specific American Welding Society (AWS) codes and all applicable standards.
• Reviews daily production reports and analyzes the causes for any deviation.
• Initiates actions to meet the production target in case of forecasted delays.
• Designs and develops better jigs and fixture for distortion control. Schedules jobs to the production bay based on resources availability, job priority, production backlogs and product complexity vis-à-vis available manpower skills.
• Reviews periodic utilization reports of all critical machines and initiate remedial actions to improve the efficiency of under-utilized machines (if any).
• Monitors the Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and eliminates the causes of rejections or reworks through educating the personnel in the bay as necessary.
• In close coordination with the Foreman and Leadman, ensures optimum usage of consumables and tools in the production bays.
• Recommends better tools, equipment and consumables to improve the welding quality of the jobs as necessary.Receives schedules / priorities from the immediate head.
• Clarifies from Engineering Department the drawings/details/revisions and the like to ensure details are clear and correct.
• Coordinates with Quality Management Department to develop PQR, WPS, Welding training/qualification, introduce new processes, consumables, methods and equipment.
• Follows up with Maintenance Department for the Machine Breakdowns, Installation of New Machines and the like. Explains safe working practices and conducts weekly safety meetings.
• Reviews natures of accidents and employee accident history and initiatives preventive actions.
• Explains safe material handling methods for Overhead (OH) cranes and Forklifts.Monitors daily the Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and advises the Foreman to initiate corrective action as per the set procedure of handling NCR.
• Reduces in process scrap generation to achieve the acceptable target as per the KPI’s
• Monitors periodic utilization reports of all critical machines.
• Coordinates with Maintenance to take corrective actions for machines with high downtime.
• If required, arranges to impart training to the operators..
• Maintains staffing levels based on company standards.
• Identifies training needs and arranges staff training in achieving company’s strategic plan
• Conducts regular communication meetings with staff to inform them of quality performance results and trends and to improve their decision making skills.
• Develops KRAs & KPIs for subordinates. Provides guidance/assistance to subordinates to achieve targets
• Promotes cooperation & team work and lead by example
• Maintains good relationships with internal functional groups.
Skills
• In-depth understanding of Engineering Drawings/Blueprints of Pressure Vessels, welding codes, symbols and standards.
• Excellent Communication Skills in English Language (oral and written)
• Proficiency in MS Office Applications and other desktop utilities; ORACLE-Based systems exposure is an advantage.
• People Management Skills in a diversified culture
• Project analysis and project forecasting
• Awareness on Health & Safety Environment (HSE) Practices, ISO 9001, 18001, 14001 Quality System
